Children’s Combination Class:

A dance class designed to introduce young dancers to multiple forms of dance. Students will participate in age-appropriate ballet, tap and tumbling as they develop a love of dance. Click to see our Children's Dance Classes schedule and more!

  • Preschool Combo-A dance class of tap, ballet and tumbling for ages 3-4 with little or no dance experience. This class is focused on building developmental skills and balanced coordination for the youngest students while inspiring the love of dance. 
  • Combo-A dance class of tap, ballet and tumbling for ages 4-5 with little or now dance experience. This class is focused on building strong skills and balanced coordination for elementary aged students while inspiring the love of dance. 
  • Advanced Combo-A dance class of tap, ballet and pre-jazz for ages 6-7 with at least 2 years dance experience. This class is focused on continued skill building in both tap and ballet while offering an introduction to jazz. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Combo class. 

 

Ballet:

 

A classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement and by elaborate formal gestures, steps, and poses. 

  • Ballet Beginner 1-A ballet class for student age 7 and up with little or no prior dance experience. This class offers an introduction to ballet including barre and center work for young ballerinas. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Advanced Combo class or with teacher approval. 
  • Ballet Beginner 2-A ballet class for student age 8 and up with at least 1-2 years of ballet experience. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Beginner 1 or with teacher approval. 
  • Ballet Advanced Beginner 1-A ballet class for students ages 9 and up with at least 2 years of ballet training. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Beginner 2 or with teacher approval. 
  • Ballet Intermediate 1-A ballet class for students ages 11 and up with at least 4 years of ballet training. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Advanced Beginner 2 or with teacher approval. 
  • Ballet Intermediate 2-A ballet class for students ages 11 and up with at least 4-5 years of ballet training. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Advanced Intermediate or with teacher approval. 
  • Ballet Advanced Intermediate 1-A ballet class for students ages 12 and up with at least 6 years of ballet training. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Intermediate 2 or with teacher recommendation 
  • Ballet Advanced Intermediate 2-A ballet class for students ages 14 and up with 7-8 years of ballet training. This class is appropriate for students moving up from Advanced Intermediate 1 or with teacher recommendation. 
  • Ballet Technique Intermediate/Advanced-This is a technique only class designed for Intermediate to Advanced ballet dancers who wish to gain strength and technical skill. Students must have a minimum of 6 years ballet training or instructor approval to attend this class. This class will not participate in the Spring Concert. 
  • Ballet Teen Beginner- a ballet class specifically created for dancers ages 11 and up with prior experience as a young child or public school instruction. Class begins with basic barre work and terminology and progresses quickly into more advanced stages of ballet. 
  • A ballet class specifically created for dancers ages 12 and up with prior studio experience or some public school instruction. Class begins with intermediate ballet techinques and terminology and progresses quickly into more advanced stages of technique and choreography. This call is recommended for students moving up from Ballet Teen Beginner. 

 

Pointe:

 

An extension of Ballet class for the Intermediate to Advanced student 

  • Pre-Pointe-A preparatory pointe class designed to prepare the experienced ballet student for work in specially fitted pointe shoes. Dancers must be enrolled in an Advanced Intermediate Ballet class and have teacher recommendation. 
  • Pointe 1-4-A pointe class designed to further a dancer’s ballet experience with level appropriate instruction, building both strength & technique. Dancers must be enrolled in upper level ballet classe and have teacher recommendation. 

 

Contemporary or Modern Dance:

 

A dance form consisting of jazz, ballet & modern movements. Improvisation and musicality are explored through movement. 

  • Contemporary Advanced Beginner-A dance class for students ages 9 and up. This class introduces dancers to the techniques of modern and contemporary dance with warm-up and center work. It is recommended that students have at least 2 years of ballet and jazz training. This is appropriate for students moving up from Beginner 2 and Advanced Beginner levels of Ballet & Jazz. 
  • Contemporary Intermediate-A dance class for students ages 10 and up. This class consists of warm up and center work focused on modern and contemporary techniques. It is recommended that students have at least 4 years of ballet and jazz training (or teacher approval). This is appropriate for students moving up from Advanced Beginner or Intermediate levels of Ballet & Jazz. 
  • Contemporary Teen- a dance class for students ages 11 and up. This class consists of warm up and center work focused on modern and contemporary techniques. It is recommended that students have at least 3 years of ballet and jazz training (or teacher approval). This is appropriate for students moving up from Modern 1, Advanced Beginner 2 and Intermediate levels of Ballet & Jazz.
  • Contemporary Advanced Intermediate-A dance class for students ages 13 and up. This class consists of warm up and center work focused on modern and contemporary techniques. It is recommended that students have at least 5 years of ballet and jazz training (or teacher approval). This is appropriate for students moving up from Intermediate levels of Ballet & Jazz. 

 

Drill Team Skills:

 

Elements needed to participate in a public school dance team, pom squad, cheer team. 

  • Drill Team Skills- This class is designed for students 6th grade and up who are interested in building skills in preparation for Middle School or High School dance team tryouts. Students will work on mastering required turns, leaps and kicks, as well as various dance styles, necessary for dance, drill & pom tryouts in area schools. 

 

 

 

Hip Hop:

 

A contemporary style of urban street dance. Hip Hop Dancers typically wear tennis shoes or sneakers and jeans,  shorts or pants that are easy to move in. This is the newest form of dance and a super popular choice for kids, teens and adults!

Students are placed in a class according to age, experience, dedication, and natural ability.  We believe a student should be placed in a class where they will be challenged and able to work to their fullest potential without being overwhelmed or intimidated.
